SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Data Analyst at the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) is primarily responsible for managing and carrying through evaluation projects that contribute to a deeper understanding of TAASA’s impact in addressing sexual violence in Texas. The position involves designing data collection methods, data gathering and data analysis, and writing summaries, reports, fact sheets and other community-focused ways of disseminating learning. The position will occasionally provide training and technical assistance to member programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in data gathering, data management and data analysis for learning and evaluation
  • Conduct listening sessions, surveys, interviews, and focus groups
  • Facilitate meaningful discussions or meaning-making sessions with staff, community members, and partners regarding trends and findings
  • Identify and analyze publicly available data sources to inform our learning projects, advocacy, and policy work
  • Contribute to the production of materials and publications for TAASA, including white papers, evaluation reports, fact sheets, surveys, infographics and community-focused publications
  • Provide trainings and technical assistance to membership programs around monitoring and evaluation
  • Assist with TAASA database administrative projects
  • Track work completed via Salesforce
  • Assist with various TAASA projects as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Human Services or related field, Master’s degree preferred but not required
  • One to two years of program evaluation experience, with a proven ability to facilitate discussion and communicate findings either through reports, infographics, facilitated discussions or presentations OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years full-time experience with Excel
  • Experience working with a database or CRM; troubleshooting software applications and functional issues

Skills and Abilities

  • Committed to maintaining data integrity to ensure sound and accurate insights
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills (preferably in English and Spanish)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines
  • Capacity to work independently and in teams remotely
  • Experience with cloud-based survey software
  • Ability to use a variety of business and project management software such as Slack, Asana, Google Apps, and Office 365
  • Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of TAASA, and a commitment to utilizing these in all aspects of the work
  • Show a demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with other staff, members, and other allied professionals
  • Show initiative in building interpersonal and communication skills through self-awareness and transparency
  • Be innovative in growing oneself and the organization through ongoing learning and training
  • Abide by all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledgeable on sexual violence preferred
  • Bilingual (English + Spanish) preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with Survey Monkey, Google Forms, Salesforce, and NVivo preferred
  • Familiarity with VELA or Osnium databases

Special Requirements

  • Must have working internet capability at home for occasional remote work
  • Ability to travel statewide including some overnights and weekends. Must have ready access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
