Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing and developing the Clinical department including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and scheduling for residential and non-residential services for domestic violence, sexual assault, and homeless populations. Must understand the developmental needs of diverse populations and have a trauma informed approach to service delivery. Develop, plan and implement strategies for program continuation and growth. Provide clinical training to clinical staff, interns, case managers, and staff. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the agency and its overall success. This position provides both clinical and personnel supervision of the clinical staff. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills. Serves on call on a limited, scheduled basis. Manages development and implementation of agency prevention education in the schools and community as well as program services for children of agency clients. Prevention and education objectives intended to reduce domestic violence include education about healthy relationships, stalking and dating violence, sexual assault awareness and prevention. Provides program leadership and oversight to the children’s program. The children’s program includes school enrollment, after school, summer education and recreation programs, limited childcare, and resource coordination with DFPS and other community agencies serving children.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the clinical department following the agency mission demonstrated by setting departmental goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with the chief program officer to provide guidance for clinical program development and growth.
  • Must understand intricate braided funding streams with proven ability to report and meet all goals
  • Evaluate existing contract compliance, monitoring and reporting to ensure all goals are being met
  • Proven experience understanding and demonstrated ability to generate revenues for clinical services
  • Develop Mental Health Assessment Plan, which may include, but is not limited to, safety plans, service goals, measurable outcomes and time-limited objectives
  • Understanding of the Agency’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances
  • Ensure accurate client records and documentation including timely and complete data entry.
  • Serves and maintains a client appointment schedule of at least fifteen and a maximum of twenty sessions (up to 55 minutes per session and 5 minutes for documentation) each week.
  • Ensures clinicians maintain a client appointment schedule of at least five and a maximum of eight visits (up to 50 minutes per session and 10 minutes for documentation) each day.
  • Oversee, and when necessary, conduct groups (life skill, domestic violence support, sexual abuse survivors) as needed.
  • Oversee undergraduate and clinical interns (LPC, MFT, and LSW) and ensure all are meeting on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee and support referrals to non-residential and residential programs, any client who are seeking assistance in housing, legal, shelter to the respective staff member.
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation services and counseling services for clients via a face-to- face session, video- conferencing or by telephone, when necessary
  • Oversee with reception staff member to schedule and reschedule clients.
  • Oversee case reviews and clinical staffing meetings.
  • Must possess a personal, insured vehicle for use on the job with a valid driver's license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Develop, coordinate and present educational sessions to students, teachers, parents, and community groups which address domestic violence, healthy dating relationships, sexual assault, and stalking issues.
  • Identify and create evidence-based curriculum for education and prevention presentations.
  • In collaboration with Director of Community Relations and team members, assures that prevention and education services are accessible and well utilized by the community.
  • Identify programmatic strategies designed to meet the emotional, educational, and physical needs of children residing in the shelter.
  • Work collaboratively with agency team members to provide needed comprehensive services to children.
  • Plan and implement activities for shelter summer program, holiday events and field trips.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Three to five years of progressively responsible non-profit program management experience and staff supervision, including expertise transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team
  • Must have full licensure in the State of Texas and three to five years of experience
  • Preference given to those trained as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioners
  • Preference given to those eligible for approved supervisor status in Texas or close to eligible
  • Knowledge and experience regarding dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault and homelessness
  • Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community based organization
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality
  • Clinical experience providing short term crisis counseling to victims and survivors
  • Must abide by all Ethical Standards for the State of Texas.
  • Excellent reading, speaking, writing, database, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of resources for referring clients who have clinically significant behavioral and psychological problems or other specialized resource needs.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish desired.
  • Education and training may include, but are not limited to, such areas as suicide, substance addiction, sexual abuse, child abuse, domestic violence, and chemical dependency.
  • Background clearance check required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in clinical study (Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy) must be licensed and maintain licensing as an LPC, MFT, LCSW (Licensed Professional Counselor and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker). Annual training and continuing education for all Counseling staff must be in accordance with the respective licensing act/board requirements. Support to maintain credentialing will be provided as funds are available, should funds not be available, maintenance of licensure will be at the employee’s expense.
