Linda loves playing with words, so editing the blog is almost as much fun as enjoying a bowl of Blue Bell Vanilla Bean.   Since she believes hugging trees heals the body and soul, living in the Village of Ottine near Palmetto State Park is a blessing.  She’s thankful for the survivors who taught her about the guts it takes to heal, for all who work to prevent sexual violence before it happens, and that her two grandsons and granddaughter think she’s a bit weird, but “cool.” The squeak of athletic shoes and a bouncing basketball still make some of her favorite music.

Morgan is a yoga teacher, coffee enthusiast and proud member of the preventioneers. Her passion for social justice was sparked at a young age – at six she began encouraging friends and family members to sign petitions banning the use of chlorofluorocarbons and by 10 she had read every book she could find about MLK. Since then, she has worked to end oppression in various ways, including through the use of theater (which was her first love) and other artistic mediums. She has a profound and undying love for commas and takes it personally when they are edited out of her writings.

Rose is a hopeless idealist with realist tendencies. She believes conflicting notions initiate innovative thinking, therefore she finds herself in a constant state of flux. She plans to one day enjoy the arts of cooking, exercising and cleaning, but until then she enjoys her guilty pleasure television shows (e.g., Rock of Love, The Bachelor) and is a fan of college athletics. When traveling, Rose enjoys visiting the local coffee shops, small bookstores and insists on a photograph of the local Catholic Church. She is the proud single mother of a beautiful child and a joyous mother/grandmother of four cats: Blue, Black Beauty, Puff and Midnight.

Tim is a full-time father, partnouer and preventioneer, an amateur soccer player and an aspiring blogger/writer. His experience includes 10 years of social justice work, four years of parenting, countless hours of contemplation and 35 years of living in this beautiful and cruel world. He believes that violence can be ended, that building healthy communities is just about the most important work there is and that it makes no sense that Goofy can talk but Pluto can’t – I mean come on, they’re both dogs.
