Title: EJC’s Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault

Webinar Description: Staff attorneys Gabriela Vega and Christoper Willett of the Equal Justice Center (EJC) will provide an introduction to the EJC’s Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault project and give an overview of the employment rights of sexual assault survivors. The presentation will touch on the basics of employment discrimination law, including sexual harassment and disability discrimination; the Family and Medical Leave Act; unemployment compensation; and other employment-related issues. It will also provide suggestions on how advocates and other service providers can help ensure that employment rights are effectively exercised.


Title: New TAASA Resource: Tools for Working with Incarcerated Survivors

Webinar Description:  This webinar will introduce TAASA’s new program resource and staff member that works on examining and eliminating prison rape in Texas correctional facilities. The training will cover relevant background on rates of prison rape across the state, the basics of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), and provide information, resources, and tools for service providers interested in working with incarcerated survivors.
